Working Jelks, English Bar Billiard Table, Rare Three penny bit leg circa 1930s. One of the most collectable bar Billiard tables, produced was by William Jelks of London and is known as the Model with the threepenny bit legs. This table is original and appears to have been restored at some point during the late 90s.
It comes complete with 4 Cues, hole score plan, Score board and game instructions. Some of the history of this table shows that during 1970s to 1990s it was rented out to various pubs and clubs in London and Northamptonshire, England. Earlier records are underneath the existing labels. The original cash box is still in place. Serial Number on table bed.= 709182 412 100 (Made in UK). 2m x 1m x 0.9m Weight 150Kg approx. The two leading manufacturers being William Jelks of Holloway Road, London and Jeffrey Brothers of London produced a range of bar billiard tables principally for use in public houses. They were joined by Sams Brothers of Hoddesdon who produced a square leg table which became the mass produced workhorse of the business.
